Scrapbooking, Tractor Ride

TractorRide1

Ahh the warm colors of summer.  I used this color pallet from Scrap Friends as my starting point for this page.  Color challenges are always so tricky for me.  I have particular colors that I like to use and have a difficult time meandering away from them.  Part of it also tends to be that I don't have colors or hues in my stash that the color challenges always seem to want, but the warm colors was one I actually could make do with.

I am so happy with how the little pink polka-dot frame.  I traced another frame I had lying around onto some white card stock.  Then I colored it with a pink marker.  Then I took a polka-dot stamp and stamped all around it.  I am so happy with how cute it ended up being.

I also found this cute song challenge at Scrap Your Story.  I knew I just had to add the ee-i-ee-i-oh.  I didn't want to add old McDonald though because it is grandma and grandpa's farm and that would just be too silly.  I also made another vellum shaker and this one came out really well.  These shakers are starting to become an obsession!  I used washi tape to close it off and it worked out really well.  I didn't feel like getting my sewing machine out so I'm glad the washi worked out so well.

This page has some hidden journaling and another photo that I love from our little tractor ride.  I wanted to do a lot more, but my little daughter had a bad tummy bug. So, I didn't have much time or energy left to scrapbook.

Scrapbooking, Spooktackular

Happy Monday!  Wow was last week crazy.  I experienced more drama than I ever imagined and I am so glad for a brand new week.  They super short version is that some people got very emotional that a song wasn't going to be included in a winter sing-a-long.  The full version takes me about 20 minutes to say and I don't even know how long that would take to type, so lets just enjoy my layout for the memory nest.  I used a bunch of stamps and colored them in on this layout.  I was in a very stampy mood.  My favorite part is how the title turned out.  The little lamp post sticker was just a perfect fit.
Normally I do a pumpkin patch layout, but we never made it to the pumpkin patch this year.  We had too many activities and the one day we could go, the weather was a disaster.  We had a solid downpour all day long and that's no fun when you have a baby. I did try to make up for it by going around my neighborhood and getting some photos of my kids.  My daughter says she was fine…

Valentine's Day Wreath

Now that the Christmas decorations are down, it is time to make some Valentine's Day decorations to put up! I have seen some in the store, but it is much more fun to make your own.  So here is how I made my sweet heart wreath.
First you need a hoop (the one I used had about a 7 in diameter), 7 big wooden hearts, 8 small wooden hearts, paint, glitter, ribbon, and some hot glue. I took all my hearts and painted them a solid color and then went back over them and made some patterns or outlined them. I thought they were looking a little boring so I went back and put some glitter on random ones. Then I went around and hot glued the big ones and tried to make them as evenly spaced as possible. Then I hot glued the smaller ones on top of the bigger hearts, tied some ribbon, and then hung on my door!

Scrapbooking, Melt My Heart

I've got one more rainbow inspired layout to share. This time I played along with Scrap Our Stash. I used the following five items up from the list. 1. Stripe Paper (I may have a rainbow stripe addiction when it comes to paper) 2. Paper Clip (the orange arrow at the top) 3. Wood Veneer (the cute arrow) 4. Flair (I've got two.  The circle heart from Amy Tangerine and the square sunshine from a Freckled Fawn Kit) 5. Enamel Dots (I've got a few green in one corner and a few orange in another)
I used a bunch of pop dots on this layout to keep some of the corners up and to give the clouds some layering.  I kind of forgotten just how handy those little things can be in giving depth to a page. I also decided to keep my journaling hidden since this page has so much going on pattern wise with no good breaks.
