Scrapbooking, Buddies

I might still not have the internet at home, but it isn't going to stop me from sharing this page for the Memory Nest's Pillow Patterns

It's a really easy page to make.  I used the Cashmere Dame Honeycomb paper and brushed some gesso onto the background really thinly.  Once it dried, I rubbed on some gelatos and then misted them with a little bit of water to make them run.  Then I used the solid orange cardstock from the kit, the yellow polk-a-dot paper and some blue from the Lucky Charm paper for the top part of the page.  I also cut out the little clouds, air balloon, and saying from the Lucky Charm paper and put some pop dots under them to give a bit of dimension.
My favorite part is the spinner.  It spins around to reveal the word "Buddies."  I cut lots of squares from all the papers from the kit and glued them onto the viewer frame.  The teeny alphas fit perfectly in the little squares.  I did have to use a brad from my stash and also used some thickers I had for the rest of the title.

Scrapbooking, Tulip Tradition

I know I've been a bit MIA lately.  We found a house!  We close on April  23 and I can't wait.  In the mean time we had to move into a townhouse.  During the move the box with all the internet stuff and cable stuff and dvd player and wires and things got lost.  I think it is in the very back of the tandem garage of the townhouse.  It's packed full and there is no way to get to the back.  Since we are only in this place for a few weeks we are not going to unpack anything so no internet it is!
Anyways, I wanted to share this page I made for the Memory Nest's kit Pillow Patterns when I should have been packing instead.  I wanted to get it up a few days ago, but the move and lack of internet made it a bit difficult.  Back to the kit, I just love the warm hues of all the pages. It is even inspiring me on how I want to paint my daughter's room...hehehe.  The warm hues make me think of spring and I had to scrap photos of one of my favorite places, the tulip fields!  In the next week or two we will go back to see them so I'll get some great shots of my little guy and the flowers.  I can't wait!

I made the background of the page by tracing the photo viewer frame that was in the kit.  I then colored it in with gelatos.  I wanted to do water colors, but they had already been packed up in one of the 14 boxes of "Saskia's Scrapbooking Stuff."  I also used some white paint to make the random hexagons.  The title was made by sewing the letters with the twine that came in the kit as well as the scrabble letter stickers.  The one photo frame came in the kit while the other one I had cut with some good old scissors using the orange polk-a-dot paper.
