Scrapbooking, My 3 Gnomes

Oh it has been so long since I have scrapbooked. I have had so little time to do any.  I feel like I am constantly cleaning! The little bit that has gotten completed, hasn't made its way onto my little spot on the web.  How did I not post a single thing last year!  Yikes!  I have been doing many other projects for my home, for girl scouts (I'm a leader for my daughter's troop) and I am teaching art at my kid's school and that has been quite the adventure.  Their district got rid of art teachers 40 years ago, so parents come in and teach to fill in the gap.  This year I am going in for my son's first grade class, my daughter's fourth grade class and another fourth grade class where no parent would come and do it.  I did this last year to and now I've got a good system going and I have a bit more time.  Plus my littlest guy can keep himself occupied now, so I have found a bit more time.

I found a scrapbooking challenge, that sparked my desire to scrapbook again.  So I made this layout of my three kids.  I really miss doing challenges and being on a design team.  Deadlines really helped me stay on top of scrapbooking!

Valentine's Day Wreath

Now that the Christmas decorations are down, it is time to make some Valentine's Day decorations to put up! I have seen some in the store, but it is much more fun to make your own.  So here is how I made my sweet heart wreath. First you need a hoop (the one I used had about a 7 in diameter), 7 big wooden hearts, 8 small wooden hearts, paint, glitter, ribbon, and some hot glue. I took all my hearts and painted them a solid color and then went back over them and made some patterns or outlined them. I thought they were looking a little boring so I went back and put some glitter on random ones. Then I went around and hot glued the big ones and tried to make them as evenly spaced as possible. Then I hot glued the smaller ones on top of the bigger hearts, tied some ribbon, and then hung on my door!

Scrapbooking, Melt My Heart

I've got one more rainbow inspired layout to share. This time I played along with Scrap Our Stash . I used the following five items up from the list. 1. Stripe Paper (I may have a rainbow stripe addiction when it comes to paper) 2. Paper Clip (the orange arrow at the top) 3. Wood Veneer (the cute arrow) 4. Flair (I've got two.  The circle heart from Amy Tangerine and the square sunshine from a Freckled Fawn Kit) 5. Enamel Dots (I've got a few green in one corner and a few orange in another)   I used a bunch of pop dots on this layout to keep some of the corners up and to give the clouds some layering.  I kind of forgotten just how handy those little things can be in giving depth to a page. I also decided to keep my journaling hidden since this page has so much going on pattern wise with no good breaks.

Scrapbooking, Pumpkin Patch

I loved how the water color background turned out for my son's page so much, that I had to try it again.  This time, I thought I would make a two page layout for my daughter's book since it has been a very long time since I've tried one.   I wanted to scrap these pumpkin patch pictures from last year because we were just about to go to the pumpkin patch again and I thought they would help me get into the fall mood.  I just love fall, but the weather in the pacific northwest is so unpredictable this time of year.  You never know if there is going to be a sunny day to go pumpkin picking so you have to take advantage of one when it comes!   Scrap Our Stash had their Tic Tac Toe challenge again, so I thought I would give it a go.  I went right down the center and did 3 buttons, decorative pins, and wood veneers.  I scattered buttons randomly onto the page.  I used up the little joy pin from Little Yellow Bicycle that I had laying around still.  I also added a li
