Scrapbooking, First Steps

I'm slowly working my way through scrapbook layouts.  I didn't make a single page for my littlest guys 2018 scrapbook.  Now I have one!  I found paper with dino footprints in my stash, so I thought that would be cute to use to document his first steps.  I had to dig for a long time to see if I had anythings else that was dinosaur related.  I eventually found this dino paperclips.  It took a while for me to get the paperclip part off of the red dino, but it was worth the effort.

Project Life, Week 1, 2015

I debated for a while if I was going to do project life...well attempt it again this year.  Last year I only made it to April, but I do plan to go back and finish it.  I do have a lot of partially done pages that just need to be finished off.  Anywho, I've started this year off to a great start.  I'm actually getting into a really good rhythm.  First, I discovered that I have to keep my pages simple.  Second, I've found how I like to print my photos and how to use them on the pages.  This has made the pages I've made so far go much quicker and I can actually get a page done in one night.  I'm a slow scrapper so that is amazing to me.  I just hope I can keep it up. I usually like to use left over bits for my project life, but I could resist digging into a few new things that I picked up.  I couldn't resist picking up the I Am 6x6 pad from Simple stories and Frosty friends from doodlebug.  I had to use them ...

Project Life, Week 1

So I decided to give project life a go.  I thought it might be a fun way to use up my stash a bit.  I have so many scraps of paper and embellishment bits, so I'm glad to put them to use.  I'm really trying to use up some washi tape.  I can't use it up fast enough.  Of course, I may have added some new stuff as well.  I just hope I don't fall too far behind.  I already got a later start on it then I wanted.  Let's see if I can get caught up a bit.

Scrapbooking, Hold Hands

I just wanted to share my creation for the Memory Nest's Make it Monday .  It's a really sweet color challenge for February.  I love the minty blue.  I actually had the perfect pictures for the be thoughtful and generous phrase, but the colors in the photos where all yellow and green and clashed so badly with this color challenge.  I might have to save that phrase for those photos though.  Anyways, I found this cute little photo of my daughter and her boyfriend and had to use it.     I decided to give those pesky gelatos another chance.  I put some gesso down (this seamed to make a HUGE difference) first and then smudge the gelatos down.  Then I spritzed some water on it and let it run together.  I really think that gesso stuff is key to getting gelatos to blend and get a much richer color.  I'm just glad to finally get the look I've been trying to get with those things!
