Scrapbooking , Blanket Obsession

Ah it's Monday and not only am I sharing this layout that I made for the Memory Nest, but today I get to go to the dentist and have for the second time in my life a very small cavity filled and I am horribly nervous.  My deathly fear of needles is making my stomach turn in hundreds of knots.  I couldn't sleep at all last night thinking about it.  Oh I can't wait for it to be done!

As you can see, I ended up making a page that is fairly far from the sketch.  I started with one photo of my little guy and then ended up wanting to put a bunch on, so I had to move from the sketch quite a bit.  I did keep the spirit of the sketching by keeping the weight of the page being on the left side.  And I'll be honest, I'm not really in the mood to blog right now as the stupid dentist is taking over my mind!!!!!!

Valentine's Day Wreath

Now that the Christmas decorations are down, it is time to make some Valentine's Day decorations to put up! I have seen some in the store, but it is much more fun to make your own.  So here is how I made my sweet heart wreath.
First you need a hoop (the one I used had about a 7 in diameter), 7 big wooden hearts, 8 small wooden hearts, paint, glitter, ribbon, and some hot glue. I took all my hearts and painted them a solid color and then went back over them and made some patterns or outlined them. I thought they were looking a little boring so I went back and put some glitter on random ones. Then I went around and hot glued the big ones and tried to make them as evenly spaced as possible. Then I hot glued the smaller ones on top of the bigger hearts, tied some ribbon, and then hung on my door!

Scrapbooking, Spooktackular

Happy Monday!  Wow was last week crazy.  I experienced more drama than I ever imagined and I am so glad for a brand new week.  They super short version is that some people got very emotional that a song wasn't going to be included in a winter sing-a-long.  The full version takes me about 20 minutes to say and I don't even know how long that would take to type, so lets just enjoy my layout for the memory nest.  I used a bunch of stamps and colored them in on this layout.  I was in a very stampy mood.  My favorite part is how the title turned out.  The little lamp post sticker was just a perfect fit.
Normally I do a pumpkin patch layout, but we never made it to the pumpkin patch this year.  We had too many activities and the one day we could go, the weather was a disaster.  We had a solid downpour all day long and that's no fun when you have a baby. I did try to make up for it by going around my neighborhood and getting some photos of my kids.  My daughter says she was fine…

Scrapbooking, Melt My Heart

I've got one more rainbow inspired layout to share. This time I played along with Scrap Our Stash. I used the following five items up from the list. 1. Stripe Paper (I may have a rainbow stripe addiction when it comes to paper) 2. Paper Clip (the orange arrow at the top) 3. Wood Veneer (the cute arrow) 4. Flair (I've got two.  The circle heart from Amy Tangerine and the square sunshine from a Freckled Fawn Kit) 5. Enamel Dots (I've got a few green in one corner and a few orange in another)
I used a bunch of pop dots on this layout to keep some of the corners up and to give the clouds some layering.  I kind of forgotten just how handy those little things can be in giving depth to a page. I also decided to keep my journaling hidden since this page has so much going on pattern wise with no good breaks.
