Scrapbooking, Wild Lights

I think I have already made more layouts this year then I did all of last year.  I have found that I can work on a page in the morning while my kids are doing some work on the computer, that is if my littlest guy isn't asking me for snacks, to get a toy out and set up, or to help him in the bathroom! This bold layout has a little tab that pulls out to show the ticket we used to get into the zoo.  The tickets bright green color helped me choose the paper for the layout.  If you look carefully, you can find a toucan, a polar bear, and a flamingo on my layout.  We didn't see many animals.  We just saw a lot of lights.  This was one of the few activities we could do, because of his brother's concussion he got on Christmas day while running through the house.  No running in the house has become a completely valid rule.

Scrapbooking, Snow Bunny

Hey everybody!  I'm excited to share my latest layout for the Memory Nest's Make it Monday .  I actually did something extra crazy this week, I made my first ever process video.  I hope you enjoy my babbles for 20 minutes of scrapy fun! lol.  I've been thinking about doing a video for a while, but it is a bit weird to hear yourself talk.  I definitely sound like I'm 12.  It shouldn't be weird because I used to make videos in college all the time.  A few close friends of mine will remember "Saskia's Corner."  It was an interesting little show where I interviewed people who lived in my dorm every episode.  Oh is was so goofy!     Hopefully if all goes well I might make some more.  Lets see if I can actually get somebody to watch it.  Maybe if I'm lucky I might even get a few people to watch it!   So here is the layout my page is based off of.  I actually stayed fairly true to the sketch....

Project Life, Week 1

So I decided to give project life a go.  I thought it might be a fun way to use up my stash a bit.  I have so many scraps of paper and embellishment bits, so I'm glad to put them to use.  I'm really trying to use up some washi tape.  I can't use it up fast enough.  Of course, I may have added some new stuff as well.  I just hope I don't fall too far behind.  I already got a later start on it then I wanted.  Let's see if I can get caught up a bit.

Scrapbooking, Dashing Through the Snow

It's another make it Monday over at The Memory Nest .  It's a beautiful color challenge.  I just love  this mix of colors.  It's a fresh take for Christmas and winter colors.  For the twist you have to add some texture. I added some strange cardboard stuff I had laying around.  I think it was packaging for something, but I have no clue anymore.     I started making this page by stamping the triangles.  I don't normally use color ink with stamping, but I wanted to try something more out of the ordinary.  The triangles looked way to plain by themselves, so I added some "snowballs."  I used some gesso and a stencil to make them all over.  It added so much texture.  Then I layered the paper, added photos and framed them, added embellishments and then added the title.  I decided to add my journaling to the lower right corner, but then the upper left looked much to lonely, so I stamped that little yeti....
