My Trip: I climbed Porter right after I climbed Cascade. Porter was just a little harder than Cascade because it was a little longer and the Porter trail was a little more on the muddy side, but the mud was not that bad at all. The trail consists of trees until near the top where there is a big bolder that is fun to look at. Then it was just a few minutes until the top. The funny thing was, William and I did not realize we were at the top and kept going a little bit, since Porter is a flatter mountain and there was no sign at the top or metal disc. The only sign we could find was one that said, “K.V. Airport 4.5 M The Garden 3.8 M.” The view was not as good as Cascade due to Porter has some trees at the top, but there is a little bit of rock that you can get on and see. I did like the view better on Porter because you can only see mountains, so it does feel like you are more in the wilderness.
