My Trip: This was the first High Peak I ever climbed and I thought it could be my last. For those who are not afraid of heights, then the rock face should be no problem as it provides many wonderful opportunities for picture taking. If you have even the slightest fear of heights even if it is very very small, like me, then all the rock will make your knees wobble as you try to make your way up. While the view is spectacular and the hike relatively short, it is a very steep mountain. I had a difficult time making my way up and slowed my group way down. Making my way down was even harder. I spent most of it sliding down on my butt. My poor pants were tan, but after they were almost black. What I can't figure out is that there was a European couple climbing. The man was wearing loafers, and the woman was wearing sandals and a white dress! Not only did they fly past me up and fly past me back down, but the lady did not have a speck of dirt on her dress! I wish I knew how she did it (and where they got all that energy because they were like fawns jumping up the mountain!).
