Cards, Mermaid

I hope you enjoyed my week of cards!  Here is my last one.  I love the rainbow fishes.  I also made one with a narwhal that was mighty awesome, but I don't think I ever took a photo of it.  Bummer!

Cards, Fairy

This birthday card was for one of my nieces.  It's very magical.  hehehe

Cards, Tractor

Today I have a birthday card that was for one of my little nephews.  Enjoy!

Cards, Sprinkles

Welcome to Tuesday's card.  This one is turned out to be one of my favorites.  The one donut is raised up for a little dimension.

Cards, Fungi

I thought I would go and share this week some birthday cards that I have been making.  Sorry the photo is so poor.  I had to quickly snap it before I put it in the mail!

Scrapbooking, Love Today

Happy Monday!  We survived a big storm this weekend.  The storm actually fizzled out tremendously.  Now all the leaves are off the trees!  I just wanted to share my layout for the Memory Nest.  This is the third background I made for this sketch.  My first attempt used gesso and glitter and makes for a fabulous winter page, but not so much for fall.  My second attempt I used different paper and when I went to water color on it, I got a big streaky mess.  So this is try number three!  Actually, the page looked really cool when I fist made it.  It was kind of like an abstract path going through the fall mountains.  I almost wanted to just keep it that way, but I didn't want to make a fourth background. I did put a real leaf on this layout.  I used this super stinky spray stuff that I use for my charcoal drawings to seal the leaf and hopefully preserve it.  If it ends up falling apart, then I'll have to find some fake leaf to replace it.  I gave this page a lot of dimension

Scrapbooking, Morning Walks

Every morning I walk my daughter to school.  We go to a walking only school, but live right on the boundary, so we have a long walk.  It's 1.1 miles to be precise in one direction.  It wouldn't be so bad if it was a flat walk, but there is a nice valley in-between.  So it literally is uphill both directions!  Really, it's my pregnant belly that makes the walk less enjoyable.  Anyways, the walk is always a time where my daughter displays her energy and her quirky sense of style.  I really do like the walks. This is my layout for the Memory Nest .  I just love the fall colors of it!  I had one of those fabulous moments that makes you fear the layout might become a disaster with this layout.  Five minutes before I was about to take a picture of my layout, my ever so adorable son took a purple marker and colored on it.  Luckally, he colored on the wood embellishment only and it was a washable marker, so I could clean it all off!
