I just wanted to share this little birthday card that I made for my dad's birthday. I've had these donut stamps on my desk for a long time and they have been screaming, "make a card using me!" lol. So I did. I just wish that I had better lighting when I took this, but if I waited for later in the day, then I would have missed the mailman.

Happy Monday! Here is my latest layout for the Memory Nest. So, I knew I had this umbrella paper somewhere. I was looking all over for it when I was making my little dude's layout. Well, right after I finished his layout I found the paper! So, I was determined to use that paper for my daughter's Easter layout now that I had found it. The umbrella paper has a lot going on, so I used half of it. It also made the lines in the sketch more difficult to work with. I had a bunch of ideas involving eggs, jelly beans, clouds and even a fence (that I spent way too much time cutting out for not using), but they all ended up too busy, so I stuck with just layers behind my photos. The bunny and chick papers are ones that I stamped. I don't often make my own pattern paper. I forgot just how much fun it is to do!
Having the photos in the extreme corners really jumped out to me as the main part of this sketch. It would be a fun sketch to try again.
And on one more completely random note that is semi related, I just realized that it might be really fun to draw a little egg resting in one of the umbrellas. I think I'll have to go back and draw or even stamp one in!

Happy Monday! I actually got around to scraping some Easter Photos of this year already! It is a record. I'm usually a year behind lol! Anyways, I hope you enjoy this page I made for the Memory Nest. This is the first year in Seattle (for the six years I've lived here) where it has rained. My kids still had a blast in the down poor finding eggs. It really was just about the worst weather we possible could have here. I think in the county below us they might have even had a tornado! The Puget sound averages one tornado a year and it only lasts for a second or two and does practically no damage. We rarely even get any thunder storms.
I hope you like my take on the sketch. The strip down really spoke to me for turning it into rain. I decided to sew some ombre rain drops. Then I thought clouds would work well for the horizontal stripes in the sketch. I was surprised just how many cloud embellishments I have. In the end, I went with these dark blue transparent clouds. I almost went with some yellow ones, but decided that they blended with the background too much. Sorry my photo is a bit washed out. My camera hates white backgrounds when I take them at night and I can only edit so much. My little helpers make it difficult to take the photos during the day.
