Project Life, Week 2, 2015

I just wanted to share my project life layout for week 2.  Since the week before has a see throughish card, I had one less spot I could use.  I'm actually glad because I didn't have much to put in.  We spent one day of the week mostly packing up, the next day trying to fly, another day actually flying, and another day unpacking and cleaning up from Christmas.  The good thing about flying is that I finally could use some of the million airplane embellishments I have.  I can't even remember where I picked up the airplane paper clip, but I got it way before all the cute and different shaped paper clips came out.

Paper Crafts, Baby Hotair Balloon Card

So a couple of weeks ago I had to go to a baby shower.  Actually, we called it a sprinkle because this is her second child but her first girl so everyone wanted to get her some cute little girly things.  I thought I had a card, but I only had little boy ones so I quickly had to make one.  I stamped the images, colored it in, and made the flags stand out with some pop dots.  I was really happy with how simple and cute it came out.  What I didn't expect was how impressed my friend was with it.  She had to pass it around so everyone could see it.  Homemade cards are the best!

Project Life, Week 1, 2015

I debated for a while if I was going to do project life...well attempt it again this year.  Last year I only made it to April, but I do plan to go back and finish it.  I do have a lot of partially done pages that just need to be finished off.  Anywho, I've started this year off to a great start.  I'm actually getting into a really good rhythm.  First, I discovered that I have to keep my pages simple.  Second, I've found how I like to print my photos and how to use them on the pages.  This has made the pages I've made so far go much quicker and I can actually get a page done in one night.  I'm a slow scrapper so that is amazing to me.  I just hope I can keep it up. I usually like to use left over bits for my project life, but I could resist digging into a few new things that I picked up.  I couldn't resist picking up the I Am 6x6 pad from Simple stories and Frosty friends from doodlebug.  I had to use them right away.  I know the wooden hearts and I t

Paper Crafts, Cupcakes

I just wanted to share this little thank you tag I had made real quick for my neighbor who had given me some cupcakes.  I wanted a fun way to return the tin that the cupcakes were in.  I had to borrow the cupcake stamp from my daughter's stamp stash.  It's fun to have a quick little thing to color with my fancy markers!

Scrapbooking, Dream Away

Cheers! It's Monday!  I really need to scrap a lot more photos from 2014.  My kids are growing so fast now.  I was just looking at my daughters hands and I can't believe how big they are getting.  Anywho, I wanted to share this layout I made for the Memory Nest make it Monday .       As you can see, I definitely went on a bit of a journey with this layout.  Mostly, it was because I really had three photos that I wanted to use to tell the story.  So what I ended up doing, was I kind of zoomed out from the layout and expanded on it.  It's kind of a fun challenge to see how you can expand on a layout sketch.   Now that I'm making two scrapbooks, one for each of my kids, I've been trying to challenge my self with different ways on to tell the same story.  This page is clearly for my little guy and how he slept through our entire hike of Mr. Rainier.  I can't wait to make one for my daughter and I'm planning on making it from her view!  It

Scrapbooking, Meeting Baby Brother

Happy Monday!  Wow, where did January go?  I feel like it has been a while since I made any pages and that's because it has.  We traveled back east for Christmas and like every year, we got stuck and our visit with our families was extended a bit.  When we did eventually get back, we had lots of things to work on at our house.  The day we went to fly east the shower door broke and so did the dryer.  The dryer got fixed quickly, but the shower door is still not fixed.  We needed this little stupid black piece and I drove all over Seattle trying to find it.  Turns out it is called a bottom shower door plastic pivot and finally we found it online and now I'm waiting for it to come.  We also had a gutter to fix.  Oh the joys of homeownership!  Anyways, I did manage to make one page in January and that was for The Memory Nest's make it monday sketch challenge .  I was really feeling a purple page, but I realized I have very little purple.  I had a few purple papers, mis
