Project Life, Week 2

Here is my second shot at project life.  I'm definitely still trying to get a good understanding at these pages, but I'm glad I'm starting to use some bits that I had.  I'm also glad on how fast this page came together.

Project Life, Week 1

So I decided to give project life a go.  I thought it might be a fun way to use up my stash a bit.  I have so many scraps of paper and embellishment bits, so I'm glad to put them to use.  I'm really trying to use up some washi tape.  I can't use it up fast enough.  Of course, I may have added some new stuff as well.  I just hope I don't fall too far behind.  I already got a later start on it then I wanted.  Let's see if I can get caught up a bit.

Scrapbooking, Hold Hands

I just wanted to share my creation for the Memory Nest's Make it Monday .  It's a really sweet color challenge for February.  I love the minty blue.  I actually had the perfect pictures for the be thoughtful and generous phrase, but the colors in the photos where all yellow and green and clashed so badly with this color challenge.  I might have to save that phrase for those photos though.  Anyways, I found this cute little photo of my daughter and her boyfriend and had to use it.     I decided to give those pesky gelatos another chance.  I put some gesso down (this seamed to make a HUGE difference) first and then smudge the gelatos down.  Then I spritzed some water on it and let it run together.  I really think that gesso stuff is key to getting gelatos to blend and get a much richer color.  I'm just glad to finally get the look I've been trying to get with those things!

Scrapbooking, Little Ballerina

Ah, I can't believe it is Monday again.  It was an exciting Sunday.  First, my little guy got his second tooth (and I actually got a photo of it!).  I'm going to miss that toothless grin, but not the major lack of sleep.  This momma needs more than four hours a night.  Second, I watched the super bowl for the first time ever.  I normally could care less about it, but we were invited to a party and all of my daughter's boyfriends were there.  Also, I live in the Seattle area so it is kind of impossible to avoid all the craziness.  Anyways, it is another make it Monday over at the Memory Nest .  This week you have to make a layout using this loving layout sketch made by the Scrappy Penguin.  I'm always a fan of getting lots of photos onto a layout.     Now, I ventured a bit away from this layout. That mostly happened because I didn't have a lot of little photos to really work with.  I did think about recreating the strips with some watercolor, but my wa
