Scrapbooking, Smiles & Giggles

This is my newest page.  I just wish I had some more time to work on it, but somebody woke up from their nap before I could really finish it.  Oh well.

Netherlands Poster

This is my latest project.  For a long time I have been looking for a large map of the Netherlands, but I could never find one I liked, so I made my own.  I have been spending a lot of time cutting out everything and trying to glue everything down just right.  It might not be perfect, but it is good enough for now.  I still want to do something to the background because the plain white is bugging me.  I just don't know what yet.  The map could also use a better frame, but that can wait.  I also need to find a place for this to hang.

A Touch of Whimsy...but Ignore the Wrinkles

So we put Moose's toddler rail onto her crib a couple of weeks ago.  I couldn't lift her in and out over that high railing anymore.  Her crib had this nice wooden front that never needed any crib skirt (It also meant that I could never put anything under the crib), but the railing doesn't have anything and just left this big wide ugly opening, so I had to make a little bed skirt.  I couldn't resist adding a little bunny onto it.  Do ignore the wrinkles!  I was too excited to put it on so I did not iron it yet...and it really needs it, but I think I might add a little fluffy tail onto it still.

Please do ignore the wrinkles!

Just Another Little Scrapbook Page

I've been doing a lot of sewing, so I haven't had much time for scrapbooking, but I did have time for this quick little page.

Black and White Curtains

I have put making these curtains off for way to long.  My in-laws were coming to stay with us and I knew I couldn't put these off any longer.  I've had the fabric cut down to size for months, but I just haven't been in the mood to sew them.  It's the first time I've ever put in the circle things.  They were supper easy to put in, easier then sewing a straight line!  The circle things make them look so fancy.  I love how they turned out, even though the house fabric is kind of crazy!  Our family room feels so much cozier now. I like how they still let in a soft glow when closed, but I don't have to feel like my neighbors are looking at me while I play my dancing video games.

It isn't easy to take an interesting picture of the curtains hanging...

Before and After

We rent the house we live in and I find the lamp in the dinning room rather ugly (of course my husband thinks it is just fine).  One day I was just browsing blog land and I saw a picture of the same lamp and the fix the person came up with and I knew I had to try it one day.  So I did.  I used some poster board I had and some scrap fabric and tape and really quickly put it up to see what it would look like.  I think it is better, but I'm going to have to redo it.  You can tell where the extra fabric folds over and the seam where the poster board overlaps.  I didn't realize how much light was still going to show through.  What do you think?
